We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to partner with our Nations division, specifically in Northern Ireland. As the Senior Finance Business Partner, this is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of the Nations Finance leadership team and a member of the BBC NI Executive Team.
BBC Northern Ireland is the nation’s broadcaster, providing a wide range of content for audiences across NI, as well as flagship programmes for the BBC Network.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
This is a senior position within BBC’s Nations Finance Team, working closely with and influencing senior management to drive business performance via the provision of objective advice, insight and challenge effectively acting as a catalyst for change.
This role will be instrumental in driving forward change across the Nations Division in complex areas of the business by assisting in defining financial strategy and delivering high profile corporate initiatives, and delivering effective financial management, control and advisory support in their divisional businesses to optimise business performance. To take ownership for ensuring best value for licence payers by using an evidenced based approach to identify improvements in the business model and then effectively to project manage these improvements with stakeholders across the business.
The role reports to the Finance Director for Nations, and works closely with the Nations Leadership team and wider Finance community to deliver improvement and aim to maximise the impact of Finance.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
• Experience of working in a highly results focused and complex organisation, undergoing significant change
• Experience of working with financial accounting systems and the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex financial data to a range of audiences
• Experience of providing direction and managerial support to a team of finance professionals, including Finance Business Partners, Finance Business Analysts and other junior members of staff
• Track record of strong and effective financial management and control, budgeting, forecasting and long range planning and analysis
• Experience of financial modelling and supporting the business in strategic decision making
• High levels of personal credibility, professionalism and ethical standards; effective at Senior Management level, with strong oral and written communication skills
