Wellcome Collection is a free museum and library exploring health and human experience, where you can enjoy exhibitions, museum and library collections, public events, and a vibrant shop and café. We also publish books and online stories. This is a great time to join Wellcome Collection as we recently introduced a new ten-year strategy, and this role will play an important part in bringing our vision; "a world where everyone's experience of health matters" to life.

Wellcome Collection is part of Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation that supports science to build a healthier future for everyone. Wellcome Trust plans to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.

You will work in Wellcome Collection's Communications & Marketing team, reporting to the Head of Communications & Marketing. You will manage a team of three people that promotes Wellcome Collection's exhibitions, collections, events, library, youth programme, books and online content.

You will oversee the delivery of multi-channel campaigns that grow and diversify our audiences, and build Wellcome Collection's brand and reputation. This is an exciting moment to join the team, as Wellcome Collection is currently reimagining our approach to audiences. We want to ensure the museum and library is welcoming to everyone, and build meaningful relationships with priority groups. This role will play a critical part in influencing this new approach and reshaping our marketing strategies to achieve these ambitions over the next decade.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Oversee the execution of all marketing campaigns for Wellcome Collection.
  • Build, manage, lead and motivate an integrated, inclusive and flexible team.
  • Determine the best use of budget and staff resource to plan campaigns.
  • Contribute to Wellcome Collection's audience development approach.
  • Embed Wellcome's commitments to equity and inclusion in campaign development and delivery.

We are looking for a strategic and creative thinker, who is focused on engaging audiences through innovative marketing practices. You will need experience of delivering impactful campaigns and leading high-performing teams through periods of change. You will also be able to plan budgets, resource and activity in line with our organisational processes and commitment to inclusive practice. You don't have to come from a role in a cultural organisation, but you will need excellent knowledge of the sector and the context we're working in, to help us realise our strategy.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Significant experience of delivering impactful marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Experience of inclusive practice and increasing engagement with diverse audiences.
  • A good understanding of the cultural sector and peer networks, to support collaborations and knowledge sharing.
  • A track record of leading positive, high-performing teams and supporting an inclusive working culture.
  • Experience of managing and improving organisational processes, including managing budgets and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Significant stakeholder management experience, able to build effective relationships with colleagues and partners at all levels.

To apply please upload your current CV and complete our short application.
