Manufacturing Services Technician – Coppersmith

Derby

3 shift rotation – nights, afternoons, mornings

An exciting opportunity has become available for Manufacturing Services Technician – Coppersmith.

The focus in this role will be to provide support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing services engineer to ensure the organisation\’s objectives and goals are delivered. The Manufacturing Services Technician – Coppersmith is responsible for performing manufacture, repairs and maintenance on experimental engines, manufacturing assets and all associated production equipment located in production or assembly, experimental & test facilities.

What you will be doing:

  • Producing pipes and fabrications for test beds and rigs, also one-off stainless pipes for development engines.
  • Manufacture of high-pressure flexible hoses and metaflex.
  • Shed 20 stainless pipework systems.
  • Programming of mandrel pipe bender and water jet cutter.
  • Coordinate activities with Production Staff, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, and Production Operators.
  • Read and interpret machinery and component drawings, experimental engine paperwork, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to enable customer requirements to be met.
  • Safely operate site specific equipment as required with appropriate training

Who we\’re looking for:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant time served apprenticeship.
  • Good understanding of fabrication machinery principles and operation.
  • Basic IT literacy.
  • Understanding of local and regional HSE Standards and regulations.
  • Able to work to engineering drawings.
