About the role
As a Supermarket Assistant Branch Cook, you will work in the back‑of‑house of one of our shops in the Partner Dining Room, providing hot and cold food for Partners to enjoy during their break times. When not in the kitchen, you will support the wider shop floor team as a Supermarket Assistant, delivering the distinct service and passion for food that our competitors cannot match.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the smooth running of the overall kitchen with support and direction from the management team.
- Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe.
- Control portion sizes, preparation, storage methods and due diligence to avoid food wastage and protect profits.
- Adhere to high food hygiene standards.
- Provide excellent service to customers and support shop‑keeping tasks such as stock replenishment, shelf management, fulfilment of online orders, reducing wastage, checkout support, managing Click & Collect and on‑demand orders, and keeping the work area safe and tidy.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
- Experience working as a cook in a catering or hospitality environment.
- Passion for food and the ability to serve a varied and nutritious menu.
- Customer focused with the ability to engage partners with the food on offer.
- Commercial awareness, driving sales within the partner dining room while controlling costs and wastage.
