Purpose of the Role
Build and own BritBox's photography and imagery capability from the ground up, establishing a centralised, scalable approach to photo asset management, approvals, and distribution across MarComms, BBC Select and BBC Studios. Work with stakeholders in London and New York to replace fragmented processes with a best‑in‑class operating model.

Your Key Responsibilities and Impact
- Own and manage all BritBox photography assets across originals and acquisitions, acting as the central point of accountability.
- Partner with unit photographers, publicists and talent representatives to guide shoots, manage full takes, editing, retouching and secure talent approvals.
- Curate, assess and deliver imagery that meets marketing, publicity and creative needs, aligned to BritBox brand and key art guidelines.
- Lead integration with BBC Studios' Media Asset Management systems and establish BritBox's Digital Asset Management platform as the central, secure repository for finished assets.
- Define storage, metadata, watermarking, embargo and usage controls with region-, department- and partner‑based access management.
- Manage incoming acquisition imagery, tracking embargoes, rollout plans and usage restrictions.
- Own the Publicity Media Site, ensuring accurate, timely distribution of press‑ready assets via controlled external access.
- Drive system integrations and scalable workflows across Digital Asset Management, internal platforms and external partners to support future growth.
Your Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Significant experience in photography, photo management or Digital Asset Management leadership within media, entertainment or communications.
- Proven experience building photography or asset management functions, processes and workflows from the ground up.
- Strong understanding of unit photography, talent approvals, publicity and media requirements, confident to edit, curate and advise on imagery.
- Hands‑on experience with photo editing, retouching, DAM systems, metadata, access controls and embargoes.
- Proactive self‑starter owning agenda within matrixed, multi‑location organisations.
- Excellent senior‑level stakeholder management skills, working across marketing, press, publicity and creative teams in complex or political environments.
- Highly organised, with experience creating calendars, trackers and scalable approval workflows to support creative delivery.
