The Equity and Inclusion (E&I) team works across Channel 4 to make this ambition a reality, ensuring that inclusion is embedded into how we work, what we create, and how we make decisions.
The Equity & Inclusion team’s purpose is to help Channel 4 become a more inclusive and equitable organisation for employees, audiences and other key stakeholders. We do this by:
- Embedding inclusive-by-design practices into products, content, and ways of working so accessibility and inclusion are considered from the start
- Supporting teams across the business with practical guidance, tools, and training to create more inclusive experiences
- Using data, insight, and lived experience to identify and remove barriers
- Championing a culture where everyone feels valued, represented, and able to thrive
As an intern, you’ll be part of a team that bridges the gap between strategy and delivery – turning ideas about inclusion into practical, everyday actions that make a real difference across Channel 4.
The internship will be based in the Equity and Inclusion team. Over a 9-month period, you will gain experience working in a small team, supporting the embedding of accessibility into day-to-day business decision-making across Channel 4. You will work with colleagues to deliver practical improvements across multiple teams.

Main responsibilities:
For this role, you will support the Equity and Inclusion team in embedding accessibility into day-to-day business practices across Channel 4. This will involve working with a range of stakeholders to ensure inclusive behaviours, approaches and resources are consistently applied and improved.
- Support the E&I team in delivering a range of equity and inclusion projects, initiatives and events
- Work with colleagues across different teams to support accessibility improvements and engagement activities
- Attend meetings across the business and contribute insights, including lived experience where relevant, to support inclusive decision-making
- Help translate inclusive principles into practical, day-to-day actions and solutions behaviours
- Contribute to the development of guidance, resources and examples of good practice
- Support improvements to accessible content, meetings and workplace environments
- Demonstrate how assistive technologies are used in practice and help identify common barriers
In practice, this means you will:
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of E&I activities and events
- Support the creation of documents, presentations and internal resources (e.g. Word, PowerPoint and PDFs)
- Help capture actions, track progress and maintain oversight of accessibility-focused initiatives
- Build relationships with colleagues across Channel 4 to support collaboration and knowledge-sharing
We understand that there will be many systems and processes to learn while on this placement, and time will be provided for training. The successful applicant should demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new systems, basic experience with Microsoft Office, and an interest in Channel 4’s programmes and activities.
This role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the successful applicant be a person who is blind or partially sighted, in line with The Equality Act 2010. Interns need to be able to travel to the TPT Hub in London for development events throughout the course of the internship programme (costs covered by TPT). Interns may occasionally travel to external events and other Channel 4 offices and locations, as required, alongside Channel 4 staff. Having not previously undertaken the Get Set Progress internship programme. Successful applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the Internship. Sponsorship will not be provided.
