CGI's Space, Defence & Intelligence business unit delivers secure, mission-critical solutions that support national defence. We are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to support a highly secure programme for UK Defence. This role will support an established secure project: a global electronic medical and dental records system used by the UK Armed Forces worldwide, including deployed and maritime environments. It is a hands-on role supporting a live, business-critical service. This position requires some on-site work in Leatherhead and holding or going through UK Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, operate and maintain Azure Local / hybrid cloud platforms
  • Manage compute, storage, networking, patching and hardware lifecycle
  • Monitor platform health, performance and capacity
  • Act as an escalation point for incidents and lead root cause analysis
  • Deploy and configure Azure Local and Azure hybrid integrations (Azure Arc, Backup)
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance and operational standards

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Local / Azure Stack HCI
  • Solid understanding of on-prem infrastructure (servers, storage, networking)
  • Experience supporting production systems and resolving complex incidents
  • Comfortable working in structured, ITIL-aligned environments
  • Defence or regulated sector experience (desirable)
