We now have a new opportunity within the Rolls-Royce Submarines Security Department, based at the Raynesway site at Derby, for an IT Security Officer - COMSEC to support the growing Submarines business within our UK Defence Sector.
What you will be doing:
- Reporting to the IT Security Manager, the IT Security Officer - COMSEC is responsible for the safe custody, registration, mustering, amendment, issue, safe handling, and disposal of Cryptographic items for the business, with the following primary responsibilities:
- Be familiar with the minimum national and departmental baseline measures described in JSP 490 for the secure storage, handling, movement, and routine destruction of Cryptographic material.
- Maintain an accurate and up to date system of Central Accounting for all Cryptographic items issued to the business using a register of Cryptographic items with supporting vouchers to record every transaction.
- Issue Cryptographic items on loan to holders and users, ensuring that all holders/users have signed and understood the baseline security measures for the safe handling of Cryptographic items on loan.
- Comply with key management procedures relevant to their holdings which are detailed in In-Force Directories.
- Some travel to other UK sites may be required.
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in Security, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Completed a Crypto Accountants Course or Crypto Custodian course.
- Experience of handling Cryptographic material.
- A high level of accuracy in their work.
To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business, an individual must hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently have this in place. Due to the nature of the work, we can only progress applications from individuals who are UK nationals or, in MoD approved cases, dual nationals.
