About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to be part of our Future Business Leaders programme at NFU Mutual. Our Future Business Leaders programme is designed to give you the skills, training, support and development you need to run an insurance business in partnership with other like-minded professionals, as an Agent within the NFU Mutual Agency network.
Spending time in our Northern Ireland Agency network, you’ll have ongoing support and guidance from your line manager and regional teams. Gaining exposure to key business areas across NFU Mutual, you’ll acquire an in-depth knowledge of our portfolio of products and stakeholders, including Marketing, Financial Services, Risk Management Services and Underwriting. Through a balance of hands-on experience and professional qualifications, this is your opportunity to gain the necessary skills you need to work in partnership with other like-minded professionals and secure your future as a self-employed Agent within the NFU Mutual Agency Network.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. About you
As an aspiring leader, you already have tangible business skills, working in a customer-focused, sales-driven role with first-class relationship skills on which to build on.
You may have an insurance background, but it’s not necessary as it’s more important that you know how to use your entrepreneurial flair and clear vision to grow a business. Ultimately you know you want to run your own business but need support to move into a self-employed role. To join our Future Business Leaders Programme, you must be:

  • Ready to take the first step towards a self-employed role in a regulated industry
  • Organised and forward-thinking, including a desire to study towards securing your licencing
  • A people-person, working collaboratively with a motivational management style
  • Flexible with regards to where you are located in/around Northern Ireland. A full driving licence is required.
