We are looking for a Junior Systems Engineer to join our technical team.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and complete assigned projects independently with regular mentorship from our senior staff.
  • Handle IT aspects of new employee onboarding.
  • Provide first-line support for all company devices (Windows, Apple, Linux) and mobile phones (iOS, Android).
  • Assist senior IT staff with infrastructure projects as you gain experience.
  • The successful applicant will be given a project which can be researched and completed between assigned duties. Over time these tasks will become more complex as the applicant’s experience grows.
  • The tasks will call upon your own genuine interest in hardware and software, and draw upon your strong self-motivation and independent learning skills.
  • You will have the ability to manage multiple tasks and take pride in your output; familiarity with Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, Linux and networking concepts will help you in your day-to-day tasks.
  • By your 6th month, you’ll be proficient managing XCG’s Microsoft Intune environment, handling new employee onboarding (hardware and software), and running the support helpdesk for all company devices (Windows, Apple, Linux, iOS, Android).
  • You’ll also be stepping up to assist senior staff with significant infrastructure projects.

The role supports our entire team from the Gloucester based office, with flexible work from home after the six month probation period if agreed with senior tech team members.

Qualifications:

  • Driving license, car and be willing to travel when required.
  • Right to work in the UK.

What we offer:

  • A competitive salary - starting range £27,000 to £32,000 dependent upon experience.
  • 25 days + 8 bank holidays leave per annum.

Our interview process is straightforward and normally involves an initial session, over Zoom or Microsoft Teams. This is typically about 30 minutes long and is a general chat so you can meet us and we can learn a little more about you. Should we both decide we may be a good fit for each other then we schedule an in-person task with typically some form of troubleshooting or basic server configuration. Any adjustments that you may require can be discussed before any interview is scheduled.
