We are looking for a Costs Draftsman/Lawyer to join our Court of Protection costs team in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, ambitious individual to join a growing national team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing Bills of Costs for assessment
- Interacting with clients to provide advice and take instructions
- Possibly undertaking wider costs drafting work across the business
- Providing technical support to fee earners
- Involvement in training junior members of the team
About You:
- A minimum of two years’ experience, either in-house or with an external supplier of costs drafting services
- Basic knowledge of legal procedures
- Proven experience with IT systems and time recording procedures
- Ability to manage caseloads and competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and a seamless service
- Flexible approach enabling you to respond to rapid changes in priorities
- Excellent communication skills and professional telephone manner
- Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders across the business
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Financial or legal qualifications such as ACL qualification, ILEX Part 1 Year 1
- Experience in one or more legal departments, preferably with Court of Protection (COP) experience
