As a Business Analyst within our Energy practice, you will sit at the heart of large‑scale integration and modernisation programmes, helping a major energy client translate strategic objectives into clear, deliverable outcomes. Working across ERP, Operations, HSE systems, and Digital & Analytics initiatives, you will ensure solutions are rooted in real business processes and can be safely adopted in production‑critical and safety‑regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, architects and delivery teams to understand, shape and document business needs across finance, supply chain, operations and reporting.
  • Support delivery across both stage‑gate and Agile environments, applying structured analysis techniques while adapting to complex integration and modernisation programmes.
  • Discover, elicit, map and analyse business, functional and non‑functional requirements, as‑is and to‑be processes, data flows and gaps across ERP, HSE and operational systems.
  • Specify and validate user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria to support backlog refinement and testing.
  • Trace and support delivery from requirement through design, build, test and deployment, including UAT.
  • Facilitate communication and decision‑making between business and technology teams.
  • Support and enable change adoption, ensuring processes and controls are understood in safety‑critical contexts.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst on technology‑enabled change programmes.
  • Extensive experience gathering and documenting business requirements on medium‑to‑large IT programmes.
  • Strong capability in process mapping (e.g., BPMN) and gap analysis.
  • Proven experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and working across business and IT teams.
  • Demonstrable experience working as a Business Analyst, ideally on integration or consolidation programmes.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Aberdeen 2–3 days per week and as required for workshops.

Desirable Qualifications

  • BCS Business Analysis Diploma or equivalent.
  • Agile Business Analysis certification.
  • Experience within the energy or oil & gas sector.
  • Domain experience aligned to ERP, HSE/operations, or data and reporting initiatives.
