The Senior MEP Commercial Manager opportunity

Crown House Technologies (CHt), the specialist MEP delivery business of Laing O'Rourke, is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Commercial Manager to join the team delivering Hinkley Point C.

This is a key senior commercial role, providing leadership across major MEP packages within a highly regulated nuclear environment.

You'll work closely with project leadership, operational teams, clients and key supply chain partners, taking ownership of commercial performance, governance, risk and opportunity while leading and supporting the wider commercial team.

What will the role look like?

  • Lead the commercial management of major MEP packages, ensuring strong commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and oversee live subcontract packages, including procurement, commercial performance, change, valuations, payments and final accounts.
  • Drive commercial performance, maximising profitability, cash flow and contractual entitlement.
  • Lead change control, variations, claims and commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Provide robust cost reporting, forecasting and commercial insight to project leadership.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to project and operational teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the wider commercial team, supporting Commercial Managers, Senior Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
  • Champion commercial best practice, governance and continuous improvement across the project.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Proven senior commercial management experience within the MEP sector, ideally with a specialist MEP contractor or major main contractor.
  • Strong experience commercially managing complex MEP packages on major projects.
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge, with experience managing subcontractors, change, risk and commercial performance.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and influence commercial teams and wider project stakeholders.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management; RICS membership desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment, such as nuclear, defence, energy or major infrastructure.
