We are at an exciting point in our evolution, defining and executing Capita Pensions Consulting\’s strategic goals as well as developing the next generation of market leading Products and Services. We have ambitious objectives and plans for 2025 and beyond.

Our teams are trusted as scheme actuaries to over 200 pension schemes, our actuarial services include advice on pensions strategy and funding position, regular valuations, journey planning, de-risking, GMP equalisation, and integrated risk management.

We are looking for a nearly or qualified Actuarial Consultant to join our GMP team. This is a rapidly growing team and represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in GMP equalisation and other rectification projects.

GMP equalisation is currently a subject on the agenda for all Trustees\\\’ meetings. This role represents an opportunity to be at the forefront of this area in a client facing role.

The primary purpose of the role is to assist in the provision of advice in relation to GMP equalisation and other rectification exercises and to deliver the results to clients acting as a trusted advisor for a portfolio of schemes

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • To advise clients in relation to benefit rectification projects both for ongoing pension schemes and those heading towards buy in/out or wind up
  • To carry out benefit rectification projects, liaising with other departments where required and to provide technical support to the rest of the department
  • Participate in the development of actuarial policy in relation to occupational pension scheme valuations, financial reporting and pensions legislative developments
  • Provide peer review sign off and mentoring functions to other actuaries and staff
  • Contribute to sales and sales presentations to generate revenue growth

Qualifications

Studying for an actuarial qualification or qualified by experience (full study is available to complete your studies if required)

Skills required

Essential

  • Experience of working in an actuarial team ideally with GMP knowledge
  • Knowledge of benefits legislation and best practice
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and able to work under pressure
  • Proactive

Desirable

  • Knowledge of PFaroe actuarial consulting software
  • Experience of working in an actuarial role in a pensions consultancy
