Your new company is a successful engineering company that specialises in designing and manufacturing high-quality parts for machinery supplied to the construction industry for the past 30 years. Known for their innovative thinking, exceptional quality, and superior safety standards.
Your new role involves devising and implementing proactive strategies that influence and drive quality standards within the company and ensuring health and safety compliance throughout the company. You will identify, communicate, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and measure their effectiveness. You will contribute to executive policy and strategy, develop, manage, and coordinate quality and environmental management systems and processes in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality standards, ensuring successful accreditation.
You will improve upon the current QMS using a 6 Sigma approach to problem-solving and statistical process control (SPC) to monitor, control, and improve processes. You will develop and maintain rigorous systems for internal auditing and identifying non-compliances, report on the same, and ensure improvements/preventative measures identified are actioned on a timely basis. You will prevent quality problems by understanding the process and specification and introduce stability and uniformity with reference to product quality. Ensure a customer-driven approach to delivering conforming products and add value by proactively managing non-conformances or complaints.
You will manage the supply chain 'quality' function, including developing and implementing goods inward quality inspection processes. You will conduct audits, including site visits as necessary, of suppliers' quality systems and processes to support the procurement team in developing strong partnerships with critical suppliers. You will liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary on matters impacting/affected by quality issues. Oversee H&S.
What you’ll need to succeed: You will ideally have 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Manager. You will be methodical and organised and have a good understanding of H&S. The suitable candidate will have come from manufacturing or engineering working to ISO9001 standards. As expected, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to get the production team working toward the same goal. This would be a great opportunity for a Quality Engineer to take their next step.
