Your new company: We are delighted to be partnering with a Norwich based manufacturer who are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join the team and contribute to the continued success of the business following recent significant capital investment.

Your new role: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and implementing the site's maintenance strategy for both planned and preventative maintenance. They will line manage the Engineering Team, providing technical leadership and supporting skills' development/knowledge within the team. Through collaboration with their direct team, the post holder will establish and maintain a high-performing team achieving both maximum labour efficiency and enabling productivity output while ensuring the team work to the highest standards of safety and quality. You will drive a culture of health and safety within the plant by acting as a role model, ensuring that risk assessments and safe systems of work in your area of responsibility are up-to-date. Provide technical leadership for all capital expenditure and projects, including undertaking preliminary studies to establish the likely cost of engineering projects and the subsequent planning, organising and management of such projects. Full people management responsibility for the site-based Engineering Team. Ensure effective communication processes are in place to keep employees up to date with business performance and to ensure opportunities for giving and receiving feedback.

What you'll need to succeed: You will have proven experience as an engineering manager with a manufacturing background. You will have practical knowledge gained in electrical and mechanical maintenance engineering in order to support your team's development. A strong understanding of health and safety in the workplace supported by relevant qualifications, experience in capital expenditure projects from concept to delivery, including contractor management and producing permits to work where appropriate.
