Your new company is a leading organisation delivering innovative energy and infrastructure solutions within complex manufacturing environments. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking a Mechanical / Process Engineer to provide technical review, design challenge and engineering coordination across a diverse portfolio of industrial energy projects.
Your new role as a Mechanical / Process Engineer will involve acting as a key technical partner across the project lifecycle. You will review designs produced by external engineering consultants, ensuring solutions are robust, compliant and buildable within live industrial environments. Typical projects may include CHP and energy centres, waste heat recovery, heat pumps, HVAC systems, aquifer/ATES systems and wider process design.
You will work closely with internal technical sales, project delivery teams and external design partners to support project development, construction and implementation.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Review & Support
- Review mechanical and process designs produced by external engineering consultants
- Provide clear, constructive technical challenge
- Assess system integration within live manufacturing environments
- Support the production of technical scopes and specifications
- Provide technical input during client-facing discussions
- Liaise with external engineering consultants
- Work with technical sales during early project development
- Support project and construction teams during delivery
- Coordinate technical input across design, delivery and commercial teams
- Contribute to supplier selection
- Attend site visits and technical meetings as required
- Essential
- Mechanical or process engineering background
- Experience reviewing or coordinating third-party engineering designs
- Background in manufacturing or process-led environments
- Strong understanding of process design and system integration
- CAD experience
- Strong engineering judgement with confidence to challenge designs
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to travel to UK sites
- Experience in energy, utilities, industrial or infrastructure project environments
- Experience contributing to technical specifications or supplier selection
- Interest in mentoring junior engineers as the team grows
