The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

50% Essex workshop based, 50% International/National travel. Salary negotiable with the ability to earn much more with travel and overtime requirements. 40 hours per week.

The company: You will be joining a well-known, up-and-coming manufacturing company specialising in the design, build and installation of a range of machinery used in the FMCG, pharmaceutical, chemical industries and more. Due to continued growth and a strong sales pipeline, they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Field Service Engineer.

The Field Service Engineer will be part of a team travelling to customer sites representing the company and carrying out the installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs and servicing of equipment. The role will involve a mix of national and international travel, but the successful applicant will be based in the workshop near Hockley when not on customer sites.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Mechanical assembly and testing of machinery and systems.
  • Mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies.
  • Fault-finding and repairs.
  • Carry out final inspections on machinery and systems before installation or when completed.
  • Working with relevant teams such as planning to organise parts, project timelines and installation deadlines etc.

This is just a summed-up list of responsibilities and other duties will be required.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience in a similar role within a mechanical/electrical manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical assembly and build skills.
  • Electrical skills such as wiring would be highly advantageous.
  • Open to travelling nationally or internationally 50% of working time.
  • Completed engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualifications such as NVQ level 3.
  • Health & Safety Knowledge.
