Your new company: Based near Colchester, you will be joining a large manufacturing business with multiple manufacturing sites across Europe and the US specialising in the manufacture of alternative synthetic paper and film products. Due to a gap in the team, the business is now seeking an experienced Manufacturing & Engineering Operations manager to join their senior leadership team. This hire will be responsible for the overall day-to-day manufacturing operations, whilst working with the engineering team to help improve safety, quality and running efficiency. Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Plan, lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations, meeting production, quality, engineering & safety targets.
- Collaborate with multiple areas of the business, including quality, supply chain, HSE and more to roadmap improvement plans aligned to business objectives.
- Create and monitor key performance indicators - working on continuous improvement methods.
- Manage and mentor manufacturing, engineering and supporting technical staff.
- Work with finance teams to develop and manage department budgets working towards capital expenditure plans.
- Drive a continuous mindset culture throughout the business.

Skills & Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or similar industry.
- Multiple years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering management and operations role(s).
- Proven experience leading a production or engineering team with multiple direct reports.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage tasks and duties effectively.
- Lean Six Sigma certification would be highly desirable.
