Based in Bedford, we are working with a leading company in the design, development, and manufacture of innovative equipment used in a range of industries from automotive, aerospace, rail and more! Due to increased business and continuous growth, they are now recruiting for a CNC Setter/Operator - Turner - to join their machine shop team. The CNC Turner will work on several products, setting and operating a range of CNC and manual machinery.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Set up CNC turning machines according to engineering drawings and setup sheets.
- Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
- Operate CNC machines (Fanuc controls) to produce components to tight tolerances.
- Monitor production runs, adjusting machine settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform in-process inspections using measuring equipment (e.g., micrometres, calipers, gauges).
This is a summed-up list, and other responsibilities and duties will be required.
Skills & Experience required:
- Proven experience in CNC turning and machine setup.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, or similar CNC controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tool selection.
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments.
