Your new company is a global technical services organisation operating across high-hazard industries, seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join its growing process safety capability. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of safety-critical projects, supporting clients across regulated industrial sectors through the delivery of pragmatic, high-quality engineering solutions.
Reporting to the Process Safety Team Leader, you will lead and support technical assignments, working closely with senior colleagues to deliver compliant, innovative and commercially sound process safety solutions. You will also play an active role in developing client relationships and supporting the growth of the process safety service in both established and emerging markets.
Your new role as a Process Safety Engineer will include:
- Delivering process safety consultancy services to clients across high-hazard industries
- Understanding client needs and developing tailored, pragmatic engineering solutions
- Leading technical assignments with support from senior team members
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Supporting business development through repeat work and new opportunities
- Ensuring projects are delivered to time, cost and quality expectations
- Providing regular progress updates and escalating risks or issues as required
- Adapting to changing project requirements and market conditions
- Ensuring compliance with internal standards, client contracts and relevant regulations
- Communicating clearly and transparently with clients, colleagues and management
What you'll need to succeed:
Essential:- At least 5 years' experience in process industries, ideally within high-hazard environments
- Strong knowledge of process safety techniques and risk management tools
- Experience applying process safety methods in a consultancy or operational environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical report-writing capability
- Experience in three or more of the following areas:
- Hazard study leadership (HAZID / HAZOP)
- SIL determination using LOPA
- Human factors analysis
- Fire and explosion protection systems
- Process safety management and auditing
- Safety reports for COMAH and/or offshore regulatory regimes
- Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards Chartership
