Your new company: You will be joining a well-established manufacturing business based in Burnley, working as part of a dedicated on-site Engineering Team. Your new role: As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving mechanical and electrical machinery across the site. Safety is the highest priority, and you will work closely with both the engineering and operations teams to minimise downtime and maximise machine availability.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Responding rapidly to faults and breakdowns
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Conducting routine testing, calibration, and record keeping
- Working within a set engineering budget
- Liaising with external contractors when required
- Maintaining engineering data and documentation
- Supporting and promoting a strong health and safety culture
- Leading or contributing to projects aimed at improving efficiency
- Working in line with BRC standards
Shift Pattern (simplified): You will work 3 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekly between days and nights.
Week on Days: 6am-6pm
Week on Nights: 6pm-6am
This rotation repeats continuously, averaging 36 hours per week.
Salary: £42,066 per annum
Overtime: 1.5 hourly rate for the first 4 overtime hours per day, 2 hourly rate for any additional overtime hours.
What you will need to succeed: You will need a strong background in both mechanical and electrical engineering, with an electrical bias, with previous proven experience in a similar maintenance or engineering environment. You should be decisive, safety-driven, and confident working under pressure.
