Your new company:

Based in Bedford, you will be joining an internationally renowned manufacturing business specialising in the design and production of a range of components and parts for several industries including automotive, mining, marine and more! Due to increased business and continuous growth, they are now recruiting for a CNC Setter/operator - Turner - to join their machine shop team. The CNC Setter/Operator will work on several products, setting up and operating a range of CNC and manual machinery.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Set up CNC turning machines according to engineering drawings and setup sheets.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
  • Operate CNC machines (Fanuc controls) to produce components to tight tolerances.
  • Monitor production runs, adjusting machine settings to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Perform in-process inspections using measuring equipment (e.g., micrometres, callipers, gauges).
  • This is a summed-up list, and other responsibilities and duties will be required.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Proven experience in CNC turning and machine setup.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, or similar CNC controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and tool selection.
  • Competence in using precision measuring instruments.
