We are looking for a passionate and guest-focused Assistant Chief Engineer to become a valued member of our outstanding Engineering team at Pan Pacific London. As an Assistant Chief Engineer in our Engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional, personalised guest experiences. As a true ambassador of Pan Pacific London, you will ensure every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence. Your primary role will be to assist in managing the overall engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring all systems and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. You will coordinate the engineering team, oversee maintenance programs, and help implement projects and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading the engineering team and ensure the optimum running of the department, along with the development of their skills and knowledge.
  • Proactively and reactively maintain all areas of the hotel and areas within our demise in a courteous manner, ensuring Pan Pacific standards of service are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that every job/task has been completed to the highest standards, and if any job/task is not completed then every effort should have been made to do so.
  • Adhere to all Pan Pacific policies.
  • Be able to take on more tasks in addition to the ones previously stated, and within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Have an active input to the annual budget to include payroll, utilities and R&M, and assist to identify areas of potential savings.
  • Ensure associate holidays are planned and utilised in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all team have been correctly trained on all aspects of their daily duties and tasks.
  • Regularly monitor and update departmental SOP’s, to include training as and where required.
  • Keep track of an updated training records.
  • Identify training needs for the engineering team to assist in daily duties, and also for career development.
  • Ensure all O&M manuals are updated as and where required.
  • Consistently meet the expectations of internal and external guests.
  • Maintain effective communication within the department, and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with other departments, ensuring good communications and to offer support should it be required.
  • Carry out selection interviews alongside Human Resources for any potential department candidates.
  • Carry out monthly job chats and annual reviews, ensuring follow ups are conducted midway through each review year.
