We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our established industrial machine shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, optimisation, and continuous improvement of machining and manufacturing processes to ensure operational excellence, product quality, and cost efficiency.
This position requires a technically proficient engineer with a strong background in CNC and conventional machining, process engineering, and lean manufacturing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes for machining, welding and fittings areas.
- Analyse process performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement projects focusing on productivity, quality and cost reduction.
- Support the introduction of new products and processes as required.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure manufacturing feasibility and efficiency.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures for production issues.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations in all aspects of production engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience in a precision machining or industrial manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of CNC programming principles, tooling, materials, and machining processes.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
- Competency in CAD/CAM systems and ERP or MRP software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
