Responsibilities:

  • Review inquiries from clients and develop process solutions tailored to the application.
  • Work with the Sales team to provide budgetary proposals for clients through the completion of internal design tools, templates, and costing forms.
  • Budget proposals include cost of labour, materials, purchased items, as well as a rough timeline and technical presentation for customer review.
  • Prepare cell layout drawings, cycle time charts, and other process documents as required for proposals.
  • Participate in customer RFQ review meetings, either on-site at the customer or in-house.
  • Support new business and product development through additional activities such as project management support, site reviews/assessments, data collection and analysis.
  • Documenting development processes, procedures, and application version histories.
  • Liaise between the other departments for technical assistance in developing concepts and processes and aid in estimating labor and material costs to meet customer requirements.
  • Expectation of travel up to 30% of time could be anticipated, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs.
  • Support other departments during and after kickoff of projects.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics degree
  • 3+ years of experience in an automation engineering environment
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Solid Works
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Strong technical presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality proposals within tight timeframes, with changing priorities
