The recognised technical authority for a regional concrete and aggregates operation — a hands-on, business-facing seat with influence from the plant floor to the boardroom, not a box-ticking QC desk.
What's in it for you:
- Up to £85,000, plus company car and benefits
- Ownership of technical and quality standards across the operation — real authority, not a support role
- Direct influence on commercial decisions, specifications and customer outcomes
- A long-established, family-owned construction materials group that keeps investing in its plants, people and technical capability
- The scope to lead new product development and shape how the business protects its quality reputation
The role:
Reporting to the Head of Technical, you'll be the go-to voice on concrete and related products. You'll establish and maintain Factory Production Control across concrete and aggregates, issue certificates of design and compliance, advise the commercial team on technical specifications, support plant teams when issues arise, and resolve customer technical queries directly. You'll also lead new product options, manage external certification relationships, and audit laboratory technicians.
What you'll need:
- A recognised concrete qualification — ICT Diploma in Concrete Technology, an industry degree or equivalent
- Technical experience in construction materials
- Working knowledge of concrete and asphalt technology, confident applying BS EN 206 and BS 8500
- The range to carry credibility across plant, commercial, laboratory and senior leadership
- Comfortable translating technical detail for non-technical audiences
Whether your current title is Technical Manager, Quality Manager or Concrete Technologist, if you're the person a business leans on to get the product right, this is worth a conversation. Our client welcomes applications from all backgrounds and actively promotes equality and inclusion across its workforce.
