The Client
A well established and profitable Scottish business that has built its name on quality and is trusted by some of the biggest names in the country. It is growing, the order book is strong, and the design team is central to that success. This is a business where you are a name and not a number, where your work is seen, and where doing it well is noticed and rewarded.
The Role
You will own your projects from start to finish. You will visit client sites, meet the people who run them, get to grips with the problem, then come back and design the solution yourself. What you design gets built and installed, so you see your own work through the whole way. The work is varied and almost always bespoke, so no two projects are the same and you are kept interested.
The Person
It is likely that you are an experienced design engineer or design draughtsperson who is happy running a project on your own, from first visit through to a finished, buildable design. Whether you have worked as a CAD design engineer, a mechanical design engineer, a fabrication design engineer or a steelwork detailer, what matters most is that you can stand on your own two feet and produce work that can be built with confidence.
The Rewards
A basic salary of £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, daytime hours Monday to Friday with an early finish every Friday, and scope for a day a week from home once you are established. Most of all, a stable and profitable business where the design team sits at the heart of everything and your work is genuinely valued.
