Due to continued commercial success, EPS is looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. EPS is a prominent Electrical Engineering and Design Consultancy, established in 2012 and based in Teesside. We pride ourselves in delivering exceptional electrical engineering consultancy and design services to clients across the UK and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical system designs for LV and HV projects
  • Specify and select appropriate electrical equipment per standards/regulations
  • Design electrical substation layouts for safety, efficiency, reliability
  • Design cable and containment layouts for power distribution systems
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards
  • Provide input for cost estimation and budgeting
  • Prepare detailed design documentation and coordinate integration
  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Provide support during the construction and commissioning phases
  • Integrate innovative technologies into designs

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • HNC degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
  • Proven experience designing electrical power distribution systems
  • Experience designing cable layouts for power distribution and substation design would be advantageous
  • Experience with protection and control systems, relay coordination, and control panel design is preferred
  • Expertise in AutoCAD
  • Ability to identify and solve complex technical problems in electrical designs
  • Knowledge of safety practices and a commitment to designing systems with safety as a top priority
