We require two qualified and experienced Commercial Plumbers to carry out specialized mechanical installation work in Bicester. The contract focuses primarily on the installation of commercial drainage networks and the assembly of mapress (press-fit) pipework systems. The successful candidates must work cohesively as a two-person team to deliver high-quality installations safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with the client's technical specifications and site regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Mapress Pipework Installation: Measure, cut, debur, and assemble copper, carbon steel, or stainless steel pipework using professional battery-operated press-fit tools.
- Drainage Systems: Install, joint, and secure commercial above-ground and below-ground drainage systems (PVC, HDPE, or cast iron).
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret mechanical schematics, isometric drawings, and architectural layouts to route pipework accurately.
- System Testing: Conduct pressure testing on mapress systems and leak testing on drainage networks to ensure integrity before sign-off.
- Site Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly follow Siemens site-specific safety protocols, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Trade Certification: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent recognized trade qualification).
- Site Access: Valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker or Gold Advanced Craft preferred).
- Experience: Proven track record in commercial or industrial fit-outs, with specific, demonstrable experience using mapress/press-fit systems.
- Tools: Must possess standard commercial hand tools. (specialist press tools are provided by the client or required by the operative).
- PPE: Full 5-point PPE required (Hard hat, high-vis, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and gloves).
Preferred Skills
- Experience working within high-tech, manufacturing, or corporate facilities like Siemens.
- Valid IPAF (3a/3b) or PASMA certification for working at height.
- Excellent communication skills to interface with the site management team.
