Job Overview We are seeking an ambitious and professional Engineer to provide electro-mechanical repairs and upgrades for bespoke high-value electric grid distribution test equipment and plant. Responsibilities include testing systems down to component level and providing direct customer support via telephone, email, remote connection, or on-site visits. Key Responsibilities Handle warranty claims promptly, ensuring customer and company satisfaction. Perform electro-mechanical repairs and testing of systems to component level. Conduct commissioning, testing, training, and routine maintenance at customer sites worldwide, with occasional short-notice travel. Produce and follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure safety. Meet response and resolution deadlines according to company standards and SLAs. Generate reports, commissioning documents, fault analyses, and certifications. Log service activities in SAP B1 system, including fault codes and resolutions. Assist in service/warranty trend analysis and liaise with sales for quotations. Collaborate with design, production, and sales teams for product improvement and sales opportunities. Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures and ensure compliance. Maintain professional and ethical conduct in all interactions. Candidate Requirements Minimum HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. At least 5 years of experience in a service role, including international travel. Formal training such as an apprenticeship is preferred. Proven experience in supporting and repairing industrial control systems with relevant electrical knowledge. Understanding of electrical schematics and circuits. Strong problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills. Flexible, collaborative, and capable of working efficiently under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is desirable. Valid UK passport and driving license required.
