Mechanical Assembly & Test Technician Location: Blackburn, Lancashire Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (4-day working week) Salary: Competitive / dependent on experience Permanent, Full-Time Engineering Connect are recruiting for a Mechanical Assembly & Test Technician to join a well-established engineering manufacturer based in the Blackburn area. This is a hands-on engineering position suited to someone with experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, hydraulics or a similar mechanical engineering environment. The Role: • Assembly of hydraulic cylinders from engineering drawings and specifications • Checking measurements and tolerances during assembly • Fault finding, diagnosing problems and carrying out repairs • Pressure testing hydraulic cylinders to check for leaks and correct operation • Setting up and operating hydraulic test equipment • Ensuring finished products meet the required quality standards • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment The Person: • Previous mechanical assembly, fitting or hydraulic experience • Strong mechanical background and hands-on ability • Able to read and understand engineering drawings • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills • Able to work accurately and to high standards • Hydraulic cylinder experience would be highly advantageous • Hydraulic testing experience would be advantageous but is not essential Hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:00pm, giving you a 4-day working week with every Friday off. There is also overtime availbile payable at an enhanced rate and a salary banded system.
