Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for compliance and risk management? The Engineering College of Technology (ECT) is excited to announce the expansion of our team with a new position: Compliance and Risk Officer.
ECT has recently been established and registered in the UK. ECT is a sister company of the Australian-based Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT). EIT is an engineering education and training specialist with more than 30 years of association with the engineering industry worldwide. EIT delivers more than 85 industry-driven accredited qualifications and professional development courses, to students in over 160 countries. Students study on-campus and online using an innovative and interactive platform of learning.

About the Role
The Compliance and Risk officer is responsible for identifying and mitigating compliance risks, ensuring adherence to UK regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, the Office for Students (OfS) requirements, and internal policies. Ensuring that the organisation complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of higher education compliance, ensuring adherence to UK regulatory frameworks, including those set by the Office for Students (OfS) and other relevant bodies.
- Conduct risk assessments and report on compliance matters to the Senior Management Team.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across ECT to identify and address risk and compliance issues.
- Implement and monitor compliance initiatives, ensuring a lifecycle of continuous improvement, including regular quality reviews (audits).
- Creating new, and revise existing, policies and procedures as required.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for higher education compliance queries.
- Producing and presenting regular reports to ECT’s governing bodies and assisting with governance-related administrative duties.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff and academic faculty.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure understanding and adherence to compliance requirements throughout the institution.
- Participate in institutional reviews and accreditation processes as needed.
About You
Essential Criteria:
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of UK higher education compliance, GDPR, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks.
- Experience in a compliance, governance, or regulatory role within an educational setting.
- Proven ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance matters clearly.
- Experience in conducting audits, quality reviews, or institutional assessments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
