The Engineering College of Technology (ECT) is excited to announce the expansion of our team with a new position: Course Leader (Industrial Automation). ECT is a sister company of the Australian based Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT), an engineering education and training specialist with more than 30 years of association with the engineering industry worldwide. EIT delivers 85 industry-driven accredited qualifications and professional development courses to students in over 160 countries. Students study on-campus and online using an innovative and interactive platform of learning.

As a Course Leader (Academic Grade 7), you will play a pivotal role in leading the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of a group of engineering courses. You will ensure these programs align with the college’s strategic vision, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.

  • Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of engineering courses.
  • Ensure programs meet college strategy, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the primary contact for students, addressing academic concerns and enhancing student engagement.
  • Lead and coordinate module coordinators, lecturers, and sessional staff.
  • Conduct periodic course reviews and ensure compliance with external and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Support and contribute to teaching quality, curriculum innovation, and faculty mentorship.
  • Serve on academic, administrative, and industry committees to uphold governance and quality standards.
  • Assist in student recruitment initiatives, including open days, outreach programs, and promotional activities.
  • Facilitate the mediation of academic misconduct cases and ensure adherence to ethical academic practices.

We are seeking a candidate with significant experience in coordination duties, with a strong focus on the quality of programs:

  • PhD in Industrial Automation or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and academic leadership in higher education.
  • Strong understanding of academic quality assurance and enhancement processes.
  • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or willingness to obtain it.
  • Experience in programme leadership or course management.
  • Research and/or industry experience relevant to the engineering field.
