Mechanical Assembler / Assembly Operative
Engineering @ 365 are recruiting for a Mechanical Assembler / Assembly Operative to join a fast-paced fabrication and manufacturing company based in Leicester.
This is a hands-on role working within a busy workshop environment, assembling fabricated products and components to engineering drawings and specifications.
You will be using a range of hand tools and air tools and will need to be comfortable working accurately in a production environment.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling products and components from start to finish, ensuring everything is built correctly and to the required standard.
The role would suit someone with previous experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, manufacturing or workshop environments who enjoys practical, hands-on work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble fabricated products and mechanical components using hand and air tools.
- Work from engineering drawings to accurately assemble products to specification.
- Use a range of hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.
- Measure and check components to ensure correct fit and alignment.
- Follow assembly instructions and engineering drawings accurately.
- Carry out basic drilling, tapping, cutting and preparation where required.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines within a fast-paced workshop.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a mechanical assembly, fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings.
- Confident using hand tools and air tools.
- Good attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Comfortable working in a busy workshop and meeting production targets.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a wider production team
