Engineering @365 is working with a leading construction machinery dealership who, due to continued growth, is seeking a field based Heavy Plant Fitter who can work independently across a designated territory.
About the role: This is a hands-on, field-based role involving the diagnostics, servicing, and repair of construction, agricultural, industrial, heavy line, and recycling equipment at customer sites. This opportunity would suit a highly skilled plant engineer with strong mechanical and diagnostic experience who enjoys problem-solving and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out machine diagnostics, servicing, and repairs to equipment to manufacturer standards
- Diagnose faults using laptop-based diagnostic systems
- Complete repairs efficiently with a “first time fix” approach
- Accurately record job information using PDA systems
- Liaise with manufacturers and internal teams regarding technical support and updates
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety policies and quality standards
- Participate in ongoing training and development, including manufacturer courses
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in heavy plant machinery or construction equipment diagnostics, servicing, and repair
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
