Mechanical Fitter Location: Leicester Pay Rate: £14 – £16 per hour Job Type: Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, Days Engineering @365 is working with a leading manufacturer of heavy plant machinery, supplying robust equipment to the construction, mining, and agricultural sectors. We’re now looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to join the team at their modern manufacturing facility in Leicester. About the Role: As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be working in a clean, well-equipped workshop carrying out high-quality mechanical assembly of a wide variety of heavy plant machinery. This is a hands-on role focused on building equipment from the ground up, using technical drawings and working closely with the production team to meet build schedules and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out workshop-based mechanical assembly of heavy plant machinery and equipment * Work from engineering drawings and parts lists to build machinery to specification * Use hand and power tools for fitting, bolting, aligning, and testing assemblies * Check builds against specifications to ensure quality and accuracy * Support mechanical build processes from start to finish * Assist in continuous improvement of mechanical assembly methods * Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organised work area * Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines What We’re Looking For: * Previous experience as a mechanical fitter, ideally in a manufacturing environment * Confident with mechanical assembly techniques and use of workshop tools * Able to read and work from engineering drawings with minimal supervision * Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic components is an advantage * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work * Team player with a proactive and reliable attitude * A safety-first approach and understanding of workshop H&S practices * A flexible and skilled mechanical fitter ready to get stuck in How to Apply: To apply for the Mechanical Fitter role, please apply above or alternatively call a member of the team at Engineering @365.
