Engineering @365 is working with a leading construction machinery dealership who, due to continued growth, is seeking a field based Heavy Plant Fitter who can work independently across a designated territory.

About the role

This is a hands‑on, field‑based role involving the diagnostics, servicing, and repair of construction, agricultural, industrial, heavy line, and recycling equipment at customer sites. This opportunity would suit a highly skilled plant engineer with strong mechanical and diagnostic experience who enjoys problem‑solving and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out machine diagnostics, servicing, and repairs to equipment to manufacturer standards
  • Diagnose faults using laptop‑based diagnostic systems
  • Complete repairs efficiently with a “first time fix” approach
  • Accurately record job information using PDA systems
  • Liaise with manufacturers and internal teams regarding technical support and updates
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety policies and quality standards
  • Participate in ongoing training and development, including manufacturer courses

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in heavy plant machinery or construction equipment diagnostics, servicing, and repair
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
