Scope:

Responsible for the reactive and preventative maintenance on a range of production machinery across the plant.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures ensuring safety is a number one priority.
  • Assist the Engineering Manager with the smooth running of the maintenance and engineering support services, including maintenance of the plant utilities i.e. steam, compressed air generation, water circulation systems, and also hydraulic/pneumatic manufacturing processes and electronic/micro-processor-controlled moulding presses.
  • Maintain plant equipment and machinery to a high standard using planned maintenance programs and relevant systems.
  • Maintain boilers, compressors, hydraulic units, control valves, pre-expanders, water system valves and all plant equipment.
  • Carry out repairs with gas, electrical and welding etc.
  • Knowledge of fault finding, component replacement, guarding systems, motor testing and replacing.
  • Support plant start-up and shutdowns and deal with any breakdowns appropriately.
  • Assist with the security of the site, including buildings, plant and equipment.
  • Any other reasonable duties.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical & Mechanical Qualifications (HNC etc)
  • Time served apprentice
  • Six Sigma desirable
  • NEBOSH/IOSH desirable

Knowledge and experience:

  • Computer literate e.g. Excel/Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Demonstrates experiences of making sound judgement under pressure.
  • Team Player
  • Systematic and with high attention to detail
  • Strong mechanical & electrical process engineering background
  • Working knowledge of machinery safety regulations and legislation
  • Ability to make decisions that maximise plant output and efficiency

Shifts:

6.00 - 14.00 Monday to Thursday, 6.00 - 12.00 Friday rotating 14.00 - 22.00 Monday to Thursday, 12.00 - 18.00 Friday. Nightshift may be required to cover business needs and forms part of the contract.
