The Role
We’re working with a growing division of a national energy services provider to recruit an experienced Senior Estimator for their Bathgate office. This is a pivotal role within the commercial function, supporting high-profile bids and regeneration works across the energy and housing sectors. You’ll take ownership of the estimating process from tender enquiry through to settlement, helping the business remain competitive while maintaining commercial and qualitative excellence. This role offers the chance to work within a forward-thinking team that values innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing and delivering accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction and energy-related projects
- Supporting bid and regeneration teams with commercial insight and tender submissions
- Reviewing sub-contractor quotations and securing competitive packages
- Analysing project risk, identifying competitive edges, and improving estimating processes
- Measuring and preparing accurate quantities from tender documents
- Maintaining pricing databases and supporting post-project commercial reconciliations
- Leading internal tender review and handover processes
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience estimating for a main contractor in the construction or energy industry
- Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts, schedules of rates, bills of quantities, and cost/value reconciliation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- Ability to work independently under pressure and prioritise effectively
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with social housing refurbishment or energy efficiency projects
- Understanding of maintenance contracts, NEC contracts, or NHF SORs
- Experience using computerised estimating packages
