A long-established contractor operating within the geotechnical and ground investigation space is looking to appoint a Regional Manager to take ownership of its Scottish operation. This position carries full responsibility for regional performance, covering operational delivery, commercial results, and the ongoing development of people and capability.
Overview
You will take control of a mature regional business, leading teams involved in ground investigation and associated geotechnical works. The role is hands-on at a strategic level, requiring strong leadership, commercial judgement, and the ability to balance project delivery with longer-term growth. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to shape regional strategy, improve systems, and ensure consistent standards across all projects.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Overall leadership of the Scottish ground investigation operation
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations
- Full financial responsibility for the region, including forecasting and performance reporting
- Developing teams, structures, and processes to improve output and profitability
- Managing workload, resources, and operational risk
- Supporting bid and tender activity from a technical and commercial perspective
- Acting as the senior point of contact for the regional office and depot
What We’re Looking For
- Senior-level experience within ground investigation or geotechnical contracting
- Demonstrable responsibility for regional or departmental performance
- Strong commercial capability, including budget ownership and cost control
- Degree-qualified in Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Confident leader with experience managing engineers and site teams
- Comfortable operating at board / senior management level
