We’re working with a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor to find an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team in Redditch. Operating for over 30 years, our client delivers high-quality groundworks and residential civil engineering services across the Midlands and Home Counties. With a strong reputation and a collaborative approach, they work closely with major housebuilders on projects that demand both technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
As an Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for residential groundworks packages. You’ll work alongside commercial and operational teams to ensure the business continues to win work that is both profitable and deliverable.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential groundworks and infrastructure packages
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to produce accurate BOQs and take-offs
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Identify and evaluate project risks and opportunities
- Support handover to delivery teams post-contract award
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience as an Estimator within construction, ideally groundworks or residential civils
- Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
- Strong numerical and commercial skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tenders in a fast-paced environment
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum GCSE Grade 4 (C) in Maths, English, and Geography
