The Role — What You’ll Do
- Own the financial model and FP&A function: design, build, maintain, and continuously improve the company’s core financial model to support planning, forecasting, scenario analysis, and decision-making.
- Lead fundraising financial preparation: create investor‑ready financial models, build pitch materials for Series B and follow‑on rounds, support diligence requests, and present financials to investors and the leadership team.
- Operational partnering: work closely with operations, product, sales, manufacturing, and supply chain to translate operational drivers into financial forecasts and KPIs.
- International & hardware accounting: manage and advise on accounting and reporting considerations for international operations and hardware revenue/cost recognition (inventory, COGS, CapEx, depreciation, multi‑currency consolidation).
- Strategic analysis: provide leadership with ad‑hoc and recurring analysis (unit economics, margin bridge, pricing scenarios, cash runway, capital allocation).
- Process & controls: improve FP&A processes, automate reporting, and implement best practices for financial governance across the business.
- Investor relations & board support: prepare board decks, financial narratives, and materials for board and investor meetings.
Must‑Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or Economics and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Quantitative modelling experience: expert‑level Excel financial modelling skills with a history of building large, dynamic models for forecasting, fundraising, and scenario analysis.
- FP&A & strategic focus: demonstrated experience owning and operating strategic FP&A in a high‑growth environment.
- Fundraising experience: direct involvement in preparing pitch materials and financial models for late‑seed / Series A / Series B fundraising (Series B experience strongly preferred).
- International accounting experience: hands‑on knowledge of multi‑currency consolidation, inter‑company, and cross‑border accounting considerations.
- Hardware accounting experience: experience with revenue recognition, inventory accounting, COGS, CapEx and depreciation relevant to hardware companies.
- Analytical pedigree: strong quantitative and analytical background — comfortable with large datasets, sensitivity analysis, and rigorous scenario planning.
- Communication & investor‑ready storytelling: able to translate complex financials into crisp, persuasive pitch materials and executive‑level presentations.
- Start‑up experience nice to have.
- Familiarity with GAAP and IFRS differences relevant to international reporting.
