Engineered Arts is seeking a Senior Product Safety & Compliance Engineer to own day-to-day compliance execution across our humanoid robots, AI-enabled platforms, and Robot-as-a-Service offerings. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this role is responsible for maintaining global market access, ensuring product safety and certification continuity, and embedding compliance-by-design into engineering, manufacturing, and field operations as we scale from low-volume innovation to global deployment. This job can be worked remotely with bi-monthly visits to the London (Farringdon) office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own CE, FCC, ISED and global certification maintenance for robotic platforms.
  • Maintain Technical Files, test evidence, labelling, manuals, and change control.
  • Lead pre-compliance and certification testing (EMC, safety, RF, batteries, mechanical hazards).
  • Review engineering changes, supplier substitutions, and cost-down initiatives for compliance impact.
  • Support AI governance, cybersecurity, and data protection compliance within products.
  • Coordinate with and attend test labs, notified bodies, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Ensure compliance across customer support, field service, and RaaS operations.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support regulatory inspections.
Essential Experience And Expertise
  • Significant experience in product safety and regulatory compliance for complex hardware systems (robotics, industrial equipment, consumer electronics, or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of CE marking, EMC, RF, safety standards, and certification processes.
  • Experience working with test laboratories, notified bodies, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Experience managing design change control in regulated environments.
Desirable Experience and Expertise
  • Ability to interpret and apply global regulations pragmatically within fast-moving engineering teams.
  • Experience creating and formalising workflows and processes for ISO 9001 preparation.
  • Practical exposure to AI governance, cybersecurity compliance, or data protection within product organisations.
Reporting and Authority
  • Reports directly to the Head of Compliance.
  • Acts as operational owner for compliance BAU across products and services.
  • Escalates strategic, novel, or high-risk regulatory matters appropriately.

  • Comfortable operating autonomously as the day-to-day compliance authority.
  • Technically credible with engineers while remaining risk-aware and evidence-led.
