Engineered Arts is seeking an AI Engineer to drive the next generation of behavioral, conversational and agentic capabilities on our humanoid robots. Working with creative colleagues alongside your own intuition and creativity, you will build, deploy and optimize procedural animations and real-time dialogue systems that make Ameca (and our other platforms) truly shine.

Amazing hardware is at the center of everything we do, and in this role you will be responsible for bringing it to life with the power of AI, making the most out of our mechatronics. Our internal motto is β€œBe Wow”, our robots are wow and we need our software to be wow too.

Performance Monitoring & Feedback
  • Get hands on with our existing behaviour scripts which are shipped with every robot we sell.
  • Balancing agility in prompt iteration with the rigour of measurable A/B testing.
  • Managing unpredictability of black-box LLMs under real-time, audio-first constraints.
  • Practical experience building chatbots or conversational AI using LLMs.
  • Expertise with unit-tested Python asyncio codebases.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
  • Experience with robotics or robotics frameworks and coding environments.
  • Experience with iteratively developing digital agents and their behaviours.

With 20 years of hardware and software development, our robots have been sold in over 30 countries worldwide with customers such as NASA, PwC, Meta and many more. Our Ameca robot is well known as β€˜the face of AI’ and a social media viral success, taking advantage of the generative AI craze. Along with our ultra-realistic Mesmer range of animated figures, our robots continue to surprise and excite visitors at museums, theme parks, visitor attractions and trade shows as well as aid leading universities with AI and robotics research.

We are also exploring how our humanoid robot technology can disrupt other robotics sectors such as the growing cobot sub-segment of the industrial robotics market. Further to our hardware range, we also offer our robots as a virtual offering. This virtual robot acts in exactly the same way as the real-life robots. This allows our customers to use a mix of real and virtual characters and allows 3rd party developers to create new and exciting applications on top of our robot platform, opening it up to new use cases and market segments.

We are a team of dedicated engineers and creatives striving to develop the very best experiences for our customers. We explore and challenge the human perception of robots as well as the fear and discomfort and the excitement and joy life-like mechanical humanoids present.
