About the Opportunity

Engineer M8, part of the Cortex AI Group, delivers smart monitoring solutions. We’re looking for a driven, self-starting commercial lead to take ownership of Tracking Guardian – our real-time vehicle tracking and fleet telematics platform – and grow it from early traction into a market-leading product.

Tracking Guardian gives fleet operators live GPS tracking, driver behaviour scoring, geofencing, journey history, and comprehensive reporting through an intuitive web portal and mobile app. We offer a tiered pricing model designed to serve everyone from sole traders with a single van through to large commercial fleets. This is a ground-floor opportunity. Tracking Guardian is a new product for us, so we need someone who thrives on building pipeline from scratch, opening new markets, and shaping the commercial strategy of a product they believe in. If you’ve taken a product or service from launch to sell-out before, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own the full sales cycle for Tracking Guardian – from lead generation and first contact through to close, onboarding, and account growth.
  • Use your own initiative to identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities. Nobody is handing you a lead list – you’ll be building one.
  • Develop and manage our two routes to market: selling directly to end-user fleets (with our in-house engineers handling installation) and building a channel of partner installers who purchase trackers and portal access from us.
  • Recruit, onboard, and support channel partners and resellers, giving them the tools and confidence to sell Tracking Guardian alongside their own services.
  • Represent Tracking Guardian at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Work closely with our product and technical teams to feed back market insights, feature requests, and competitive intelligence that shapes the roadmap.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling product demonstrations, proposals, and presentations to prospects at all levels.
  • Track your pipeline, forecast accurately, and report on commercial performance using CRM tools.
  • Contribute to marketing strategy – helping craft campaigns, case studies, and collateral that support your sales efforts.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience taking a product or service from early stage / launch through to sustained, scalable revenue.
  • A proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or partnerships – ideally in telematics, fleet management, SaaS, or a related technology sector.
  • Comfortable generating your own leads through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and creative prospecting. You don’t wait for the phone to ring.
  • Experience working with channel partners, resellers, or installer networks as a route to market.
  • Strong commercial acumen – you understand margins, deal structures, and how to build a sustainable book of business.
  • Excellent communicator who can tailor their pitch to a sole trader with two vans or a fleet manager running 500 vehicles.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable operating with autonomy in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Based in Cardiff or the surrounding area. Applications from candidates requiring relocation will not be considered.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the vehicle tracking, telematics, or connected-vehicle market.
  • Existing relationships or network within fleet management, logistics, or the fire and security industry.
  • Understanding of SaaS / recurring-revenue business models and tiered pricing strategies.
  • Marketing flair – able to contribute ideas for campaigns, content, and go-to-market initiatives.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary plus an uncapped commission structure.
  • The chance to shape and own a product’s commercial journey from day one.
  • A collaborative, low-bureaucracy environment where your ideas directly influence the product and company direction.
  • In-house engineering and installation support – you sell it, we fit it.
  • Be part of the wider Cortex AI Group, working alongside innovative products including Surveillance Guardian (intelligent CCTV monitoring) and FireLog365 (digital fire safety compliance).
  • Professional development and progression opportunities as the product and team grow.

How to Apply

Send your CV and a short cover note explaining why you’re the right person to take Tracking Guardian to market. Please note: candidates must be based in Cardiff or the local surrounding area. Applications from those looking to relocate will not be considered.
