Our client, who we've worked with exclusively for many years, is looking to recruit a talented Junior to Mid or Senior Creative Artworker to join their busy creative studio on a 12–15 month fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established and highly respected creative agency, working with a diverse portfolio of recognised brands.

You'll join a small, collaborative and experienced team where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality artwork across a broad range of print and digital projects. We're looking for someone who can confidently manage artwork from concept through to final production, bringing excellent technical ability, meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The Company & The Role

Working as part of this fantastic studio team, you'll be responsible for creating, adapting and preparing artwork across a wide range of creative projects, ensuring all work is produced accurately, efficiently and to the highest production standards. You'll work closely with senior colleagues, account managers and clients where required, taking ownership of projects and ensuring deadlines are consistently achieved.

Projects include:

  • Print and packaging artwork
  • Retail Point of Sale (POS)
  • Event and exhibition graphics
  • Marketing and promotional collateral
  • Brand implementation and campaign rollouts
  • Artwork adaptation across multiple formats and media
  • Advertising artwork and digital banner production (where applicable)

This is a hands-on production role requiring excellent technical knowledge, commercial awareness and the confidence to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Creative Artworker who can demonstrate:

  • Several years' commercial experience within a creative agency, design studio, print production or in-house marketing environment.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • A strong understanding of print production processes, artwork preparation and file setup.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot and resolve artwork issues before production.
  • Experience producing artwork across a variety of print and digital media.
  • Confidence interpreting and working within established brand guidelines.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, positive and collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small creative team.

Experience of packaging artwork, retail graphics, digital asset creation or motion graphics would be advantageous, although not essential.

Contract Details

  • Fixed-term maternity cover contract
  • Immediate start available
  • Approximately 12–15 months in duration
  • Full-time position
  • 100% office-based

There may also be the opportunity for the role to develop into a temporary or permanent position (either full or part-time) at the conclusion of the contract, subject to business requirements. Our client is keen to appoint someone as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for a comprehensive handover before maternity leave begins.

Location & Working Arrangements

This is a 100% office-based position. Due to the collaborative nature of the studio and the production workflow, hybrid or home working is not available. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence. The role is likely to suit candidates living uptown and within approximately 30–40 minutes of the studio, including:

  • Ipswich
  • Colchester
  • Bury St Edmunds
  • Sudbury
  • Hadleigh
  • Stowmarket
  • Felixstowe
  • Chelmsford
  • Braintree
  • Clacton-on-Sea and surrounding areas across Suffolk and North Essex.

Next Steps

We endeavour to respond to every applicant and greatly appreciate the time taken to apply. As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates may be invited to spend a paid trial day with the team.
