As a Portals Platform Owner at Engine, you will collaborate closely with teams across Technology and work with the product engineering web teams as well as our client experience web team to ensure that our web portals meet the needs of clients and align with the company’s broader strategy and risk appetite. You will act as the voice of our clients across the portals department but also across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the web platform strategy: Work with web engineering teams and domain product owners to deliver high-impact outcomes that ensure strong product consistency across all portal features.
- Gather feedback and break down problems: Actively listen to teams for pain points and feedback, gather requirements, and break down complex problems into actionable projects across teams.
- Drive adoption and advocacy: Promote the platform’s capabilities, educate teams and stakeholders and ensure widespread adoption via documentation, training and internal marketing.
- Measure success: Define key success metrics (e.g., user discoverability).
- Ensure security and compliance: Partner with security and compliance teams to embed best practices and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify and provide clarity on complex, architectural problems to a wide range of stakeholders, from junior engineers to executive leadership.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in making evidence-based product decisions.
- Experience in making evidence-based product decisions using both qualitative and quantitative data, specifically within a web development context.
- A proven ability to act as a voice for the user and influence teams and stakeholders without direct authority, particularly in engineering-led environments.
- You should be comfortable working directly with engineers, both internally and externally.
- You can “speak their language” and have a strong understanding of how they would build new features in our portals.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on engineering experience or a technical background, particularly in web development.
- Experience in the FinTech or banking industry.
- Experience in taking a software from an internal tool to an external, revenue-generating product.
