ENGin pairs English‑fluent volunteers from around the world with Ukrainian learners for weekly online conversation practice. Participants are matched 1-on-1 based on preferences, interests, and availability to ensure an effective and mutually enjoyable communication experience. After a match is made, ENGin supports learners and volunteers throughout their participation in the program with tips, resources, and problem resolution. We screen every learner and volunteer to ensure their fit for the program, and provide training and orientation. Since launching in 2020, ENGin has connected over 26,000 Ukrainians with over 24,000 volunteers. 99% of our learners report breaking the language barrier after 3 months of participation in our program.
ENGin for Educators (ENGin4EDU) is a unique program that strives to address a root cause of Ukrainian students' struggles with learning English – teachers who are not confident English speakers themselves. By matching English‑fluent educators with Ukrainian educators seeking to improve their English, ENGin4EDU has created a collaborative, creative experience that fosters mutual professional growth, centered on sharing experiences and exchanging global education insights. By supporting educators, we create a ripple effect – for every teacher empowered by our program, we impact the generations of students who will join their classrooms over their careers.
