We are currently working alongside a leading provider in services to the automatic and industrial door industry, supporting their Dewsbury Hub to recruit for an experienced Warehouse Operative, who has a passion and desire for learning a trade, offering the chance to become a Trainee Engineer working alongside the experienced Engineers in the field. The role is quite a unique opportunity; you will be working alongside the Depot Manager in Wakefield, and responsible for the following duties:
- Oversee the receipt and inspection of parts deliveries twice a week, ensuring accuracy against delivery notes and reporting any discrepancies.
- Organise, label, and store incoming parts and equipment in accordance with warehouse procedures to ensure easy retrieval and inventory accuracy.
- Collate and prepare parts and materials for each individual job, ensuring all components are complete and ready for timely dispatch.
- Liaise with engineering and project teams to confirm job-specific requirements and schedules, adapting workload priorities accordingly.
- Plan and execute the delivery of job packs to various sites across the Yorkshire region, ensuring all materials arrive on time and in good condition.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, incoming deliveries, and outgoing job packs using warehouse management systems or spreadsheets.
Alongside working in the warehouse, planning job packs, organising and receiving deliveries and taking equipment to sites yourself, you will also get the exciting opportunity after a period of time to begin training alongside the Qualified Engineers, developing your knowledge of the industry, with the view to becoming a Trainee Engineer, and qualifying in Automatic Door Installation and/or Maintenance.
The company are looking for someone with a keen attitude to learning, excellent organisational skills, great communication, good stock management knowledge in a warehousing capacity, a full UK Driving License (with experience of driving in the UK), and someone keen to develop a lifelong career with exciting future prospects.
The basic starting salary will be circa £25,000 - £28,000pa, however this is negotiable for the right individual. You’ll be offered chance to increase this when you begin training on the tools, and this will be reviewed regularly throughout your time with the company. They provide 25 days’ annual leave, a company pension and much more!
